POLISH GRAND PRIX

BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) finished 3rd in this round but that was just the icing on the cake after he had already confirmed himself as World Champion, defending his title successfully, with 2 points picked up in heat 15, before going on to add 6 more points and put himself on yet another GP rostrum.  The round was won by JACEK KLECHA (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) who could have scored even more than the 17 points he did but for a retirement in his second race - it was a double cause for celebration at the end too as he jumped from 9th to 6th overall and guaranteed himself a place in next season's series.  RUMUN DIMOTROV (Unattached) completed the rostrum in the round by finishing 2nd here but there was disappointment afterwards as he lost a run-off for a rostrum place overall, although he can be more than satisfied with his final placing of 4th.  The other Grand Finalist here was LOUIS JOOSSENS (HULL ANGELS) who scored 12 points to give himself a boost heading into the GP Challenge as he looks to return to the series after finishing 11th overall this time around.

JERNEJ KEGLOVITS (BRATISLAVA BUZZARDS) went out in the first Semi Final and then had to watch the Grand Final nervously, knowing that a win for Dimotrov would deny him an overall rostrum place, and then had to get himself ready to race again after the result meant he would face Dimotrov in a run-off for 3rd in the series overall.  He certainly showed no sign of nerves though as he sped away to clinch a bronze medal from this season's world championship.  The other Semin Finalists in the round were LEON JEPPESEN (Unattached), RAY FRANCE (BOTTSEFORD BULLETS) and FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS).  Jeppesen did enough to ensure a place in next year's series, finishing 7th overall, while Chong will need to go to the GP Challenge after what has been a tough old season for him.  France has been excellent throughout the series but, after starting the day in the top 3, slipped to 5th overall behind Keglovits and Dimotrov.

Of the rest PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) didn't have the best of rounds but takes 2nd overall in this year's championship and looks a very likely future world champion.  KENNI ALGREEN (WANTAGE KINGS) scored 7 points which is enough to keep him in the top 8 overall and means he avoids having to face the GP Challenge meeting.  TIBOR NEMCEK (NECRONS) had a nightmare round and dropped from 6th to 9th overall so will need to negotiate the GP Challenge if he is to return next season.  The other riders who will go to what is one of the most keenly contested meetings of the season now witll be JACK HAGEN, STEVE EDGAR, HAYDEN WOOD and LEONIZ IZOTOV.
