O/35 2018 World Championship - THE FINAL
A great conclusion to what has been a super few days of speedway, seeing some of the World greats back on bikes has brought a shiver down the spine, the fans supported the event throughout and our media outlet (forum) has been well read, so with interest so big, the 0/35's are getting their own place on the website with the results of last years event up on the site too.
The result today proving that the younger element of riders had a big say in the final which included 4 current Sim riders and one transfer listed racer, Ryan Irwin currently racing for Milton Keynes gave his season a lift with a very good victory to become the 2018 World O35 Champiion, the hard riding Russian Shirakov out raced Petr Verner in a race off for 2nd place, whilst long time Sheffield Don Simon Stevens claimed 4th place on the number of wins on the night beating meeting favourite Leon Raba who finshed 5th, Viv Thompson looked happy with 8th, reserves Ivanov 7/3 (7th) and Carl Hooper 5/2 (11th) both showed their abilty and may well have been a force if they qualified. Gillard an earlier winner had an indifferent night(12th). Injuries to first timer Scott Bridges who wanted so much to make an impression to get himself a club and Knud Lundgren spoilt an otherwise excellent night, congratulations to Ryan IRWIN just CHAMPION!!!!!!!!
