NORTH AMERICAN GRAND PRIX

PETR MARKO (MILTON KEYNES CATS) won the first Grand Prix of the season as the top 3 finishers in the round
all scored 16 GP points to take a joint lead in the earliest stage of this year's competition. Behind him on the rostrum for the round were
defending champion BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) and JERNEJ KEGLOVITS (BRATISLAVA BUZZARDS). Marko could have scored more but for an
engine failure early in the meeting but all 3 will be very happy with their starts. The other Grand Finalist was RAY FRANCE (BOTTESFORD
BULLETS) who will be looking to improve on last year's 6th place finish in the series.

|
LOUIS JOOSSENS (HULL ANGELS), HAYDEN WOOD (BIRMINGHAM BOURNVILLIANS) and TIBOR NEMECEK (NECRONS) all reached
the Semi Final stage and recorded solid double figure returns. The remaining rider to extend his participation in the meeting was LEONID IZOTOV
(unattached) who had machinery troubles but picked up 7 points, finishing 8th in the round.

STEVE EDGAR (READING REBELS) and FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS) finished 2nd and 3rd overall last year but
only scored 5 points in this one and will need improved displays if they are to challenge again. LEON WESTFALL (unattached) was the Wild Card
pick and scored 6 points to the interval but then fell away and just missed out on a Semi Final spot but the young American certainly impressed.
