SWEDISH GRAND PRIX |
LEON JEPPESEN (Unattached) won the Swedish Grand Prix to hold on to his overall position of 8th place, the last automatic qualifying place for next year's series, with one round to go. The biggest scorer on the day though was JACEK KLECHA (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) with his 19 point total, as he finished 2nd in the meeting, lifting him from 12th overall to just a point outside the top 8. The rostrum here was completed by STEVE EDGAR (READING REBELS) who gives himself an outside chance of finishing in this season's top 8, although will have to make up some ground to avoid the GP Challenge. The other Grand Finalist was TIBOR NEMECEK (NECRONS) who moved from 7th to 6th overall and with a shot at a rostrum finish, currently sitting 5 points behind 3rd overall. |
JACK HAGEN (STOCKHOLM SCORPIONS) and RUMUN DIMOTROV (Unattached) both reached the Semi Finals and registered double figures returns to put them respectively 10th and joint 4th overall. The other riders to finish in the top 8 here were RAY FRANCE (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) and FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS). France remains in 3rd overall and will have to fend off the challenge of a few riders to stay in the medal positions in the final round, whilst Chong stays down in 15th on the leaderboard and will need to go through the GP Challenge to qualify for next year's series. |
In what has been a strange old season title leader BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) had a nightmare round but only say his lead cut by a couple of points and still had an 11 point gap at the top. PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) remains his nearest challenger but missed a big opportunity to push him harder for the title with an exclusion costing him a place in the Semi Finals here in Sweden. Other top 8 riders JERNEJ KEGLOVITS (BRATISLAVA BUZZARDS) and KEENI ALGREEN (WANTAGE KINGS) didn't have sparkling rounds but stay in the top 8 as we head towards the conclusion of the GPs in Poland in a few weeks. Wild Card for the round was ENZO INNACONE (WOLSTON WARRIORS), who scored just 3 points but looked on the pace as he took another step in his preparations for the GP Challenge which he has already qualified for. |
